Kaidron Community Insights — Travel Beauty Essentials Insights
Packing light is a myth. Our community brings everything — just smaller, smarter, and more intentional.
Travel tests a beauty routine in ways that no bathroom counter ever does. The liquids rule, the flight cabin, unfamiliar climates, limited luggage space — each one demands a different compromise. This week's survey explored how our community navigates all of it: what they refuse to leave behind, how they handle the 100ml challenge, which formats travel best, and where the industry is still failing them.
The answers reveal a community of experienced, resourceful travellers who have developed clear systems. Decanting is the dominant carry-on strategy. Skincare — with SPF built in — is the absolute non-negotiable. And the community's attitude to SPF while travelling is as unambiguous as it gets: three-quarters say it is extremely important, always in their bag, no exceptions. That figure barely shifts across different trip types or destinations.
But alongside this sophistication, a genuine frustration persists: the travel beauty market has not kept pace with demand. Finding travel-size versions of favourite products is the single biggest challenge — and when it comes to which categories most need better travel-friendly solutions, hair care, fragrance, and SPF lead the gap. For brand partners, this survey is a very clear brief.
How Often They Travel & What Gets in the Way
The majority travel a few times a year — enough to have a system, but not so frequently that travel beauty becomes effortless. Finding miniatures of beloved products is far ahead as the dominant frustration.

The Non-Negotiables & SPF on the Road
Skincare leads the must-have rankings — and SPF specifically commands a level of devotion in travel that eclipses any other single product category. Fragrance and makeup follow closely.

How important is SPF when travelling?
"Decanting is the skill. Minis are the love. The community has built its own workarounds — but wants the industry to catch up."
The 100ml Challenge & Formats That Travel Best
Decanting leads as the carry-on strategy, but minis, sticks, and multi-use products all have significant followings. The community has diversified well beyond liquids — when the formats exist.
